Our off season tours are scheduled during the winter and early spring months (January – March) when we are generally closed to the public. We do reserve the right to cancel tours with 24 hour notice, if site is inaccessible due to snow or ice.
This tour is approximately 60 minutes. There is a 1/2 mile walk to the property so please dress for the weather. If paths are not accessible we will have guests drive down closer to the House where they will meet their Guide. Edith Farnsworth’s Country House – the temporary refurnishing of Farnsworth House to its ca. 1951-59 appearance – remains on view through 2021 and may be enriched using our online exhibition guides.
Our gift shop and restrooms (inside the Visitor Center) will be open following COVID-19 safety standards. Social distancing protocols will be in effect and guests are required to wear masks when indoors and encouraged to wear them outdoors, as well when social space is limited.
Accompany an experienced docent for a fascinating discussion about the history of the Farnsworth House. Throughout 2020-21 the House will be decorated as Dr. Farnsworth had it in the mid 1950’s. This tour is approximately 60 minutes (45 exterior and 15 interior). Grounds access for the day is included in this ticket. You do NOT need to purchase an additional Grounds Access ticket to enjoy the grounds.
$25 (plus $2.50 convenience fee online)
Starting in August 2020 we will offer special guided tours of Farnsworth House, focused on Dr. Farnsworth’s life and times – and the current furnishing of the House as it appeared in early 1955. Although Mies van der Rohe had specified furniture of his own design, Dr. Farnsworth preferred Scandinavian Modern furniture by Jens Risom, Bruno Mathsson, Florence Knoll and other top designers. This tour is approximately 80 minutes (60 exterior and 20 interior).
